The Mountain Woods Difference

Mountain Woods Furniture has grown to become a leader and innovator in the U.S. rustic furniture industry. From the first piece of rustic furniture built in 1973 to the lines crafted by
our dedicated artisans today at our plant in Laramie, our rustic craftsmanship stands the test of time. Our lines of products — over 200 items — brings a rustic aesthetic into a wide range of settings: log homes, ranches, ski chalets and lodges, hotels, and traditional homes.

We use hardware and old-world construction and finishing techniques that provide years of enjoyment. Every piece is individually produced by our artisans, who are masters at bringing out the best the wood has to offer. All joints utilize time-tested mortise and tenon construction, and are “glued and screwed” for added strength and longevity.

For our aspen log furniture lines, we carefully peel the bark with a draw blade, then hand sand each log to accent and showcase nature’s beauty.

For our reclaimed wood lines, we use weathered wood from a variety of local sources. The wood develops a unique style, texture, coloration and natural patina; it also has widely varying knot patterns, grain designs, and beautiful colors — ranging from rich grays to hints of orange and deep rust.

Each piece of our reclaimed wood furniture is an innovative blend of reclaimed, weathered wood fused with regionally harvested solid woods.

Our commitment to the environment has been part of our business philosophy from the beginning — back when “green” was just a color! Our early designs were built primarily from “dead standing” aspen, and that still holds true today. Mountain Woods Furniture was one of the founders of the Sustainable Furnishings Council and continues the tradition of sustainably sourcing and manufacturing all of our products.
